The Project Era

Friends, please find the Vijayawada Inner Wheel Club’s report covering the period of July 2017 to January 2018.

Membership Development

This year, 22 new members were added, bringing the overall number of members to 63.

Participation in District & Association Meets

Our club participated in the District Assembly, Coti, Zonal Meet, District Rally  and Literacy Seminar meets.

On November 11 and 12, 2017, 10 of our members participated in the Zonal Meet and Literacy Seminar III, District Rally, and SWARNA MANJARI, Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Formation of International Inner Wheel, hosted by Inner Wheel District 312 in Varanasi..

Child Care

     Donated Writing pads, Bed-sheets, Utensils, note books, mats & cosmetics and sponsored breakfast lunches & dinners occasionally  to the inmates of the Street Children homes, orphanage homes and adopted government schools. Wet Grinder was given to the adopted hostel of Vasvya Nursing home with the strength of 100 students.. A Two Wheeler was donated to Navajeevan bala bhavan.

Mounika, from STVR Government School who was selected for Ball Badminton Nationals was benefeited with Rs 10,000 worth Sports Material and nutrition food.

On Children’s day, distributed baby clothes, Towels and Soaps for 200 new born babies at Government hospital in Vijayawada. 

The Total cost spent on Child care is one lakh Fifty Thousand and six hundred.

Beneficiaries are 600 children..

Happy Schools

IWC of Vijayawada in its golden jubilee year converted  17 Municipal Schools to Happy Schools. 

Renovated and reconstructed  compound walls, toilet rooms, water tanks, school ground levelling, tree plantation in the premises, provision of clean drinking water through water purifiers, furnished the library with required books, supplied cupboards, benches, desks, chairs for the school staff, sports equipment, education kits, ceiling fans,  school bags, shoes and socks,  to the students. The worth of the project is ₹20,00,000/-(twenty lakhs).

Friendship Exchange Programme

  1. on 22nd July 2017  IWC Vijayawada organized Interactive Meeting with Ms. Chelsea Milter, USA on cultural differences between India & America.
  1. International friendship day was organized jointly with IWC Vijayawada East & Vijayawada Mid Town on July 30th 2017.

Members sponsored high tea and tied friendship bands to 100 under privileged girls.

Service to Senior Citizens

 Adopted an old age home ‘Sarojini Devi, home for aged’. Besides giving monthly provisions, donated refrigerator and sponsored new saris to all thirty inmates of the home. Amount spent on the project till date is one lakh forty thousand.

SELF DEFENCE

Inner Wheel Club of Vijayawada along with Vijayawada City Police and Vasvya Mahila Mandali,  organized Training of Trainers(TOT) Programme and workshop on Self Defence from 17th  to 20th August 2017.

664 ladies were benefited and the program had a wide press and media coverage. ONE LAKH AND FIFTY FIVE THOUSAND WAS SPENT ON THIS PROJECT.

WOMEN ON WHEELS – SCOOTER RALLY

To create awareness on traffic rules, Inner Wheel Club of Vijayawada & Top gear events in association with Vijayawada City Police, Vasvya Mahila Mandali, & Axis Bank organized Women on Wheels, Scooter Rally on Sunday 3rd September 2017 at 10am in Siddartha Academy.

400 women(200 pairs) participated in the Rally.. Nearly one hundred ladies participated in various indoor competitions conducted at the Venue.. Prizes like washing machines, grinders, water geezer, TVS etc… were given to the winners. Helmets & caps were sponsored to the participants of Scooter Rally.

The Project’s worth is one lakh ninety five thousand.

HEALTH CARE

Eye Donation Awareness Fortnight Celebrations took Place From 25th August To 8th September Along With Swetcha Gora Eye Bank.

Awareness Programmes were organized at various places.. Conducted Essay Writing , painting and singing Competition for High School & College Students. Seminar  and Quiz Competition on Eye Donation took place at Vasavya Nursing Home. The Projects worth is 25,000/-        

INNER WHEEL CLUB OF VIJAYAWADA completed Mega EYE CHECKUP CAMPS in 50 schools and to around 10368 students. Distributed  1285 spectacles which were sponsored by our District Collector Sri Lakshmi Kantham..

The Project’s worth is 4,31,760.

Tree Plantation

Donated high quality Organic Fruits & Vegetable Seeds for healthy plants towards Kitchen Garden  at Senior Citizens home ‘ Sarojini Devi, Home for aged’, Gosala – Vijayawada. Planted 33 trees at oldage homes and adopted schools..

Inner Wheel Day: January 10th

On International Inner Wheel day 60 nurses working in government hospitals were honoured and felicitated..

Under Teach Project:-

Members of Inner Wheel Club of Vijayawada Surveyed 21 Government schools for Nation Builder Award. Twenty one outstanding teachers were selected and felicitated.

25 adults were enrolled under Nios Exam

50 children were sent back to school under Asha Kiran Project

Press & Media Coverage

A FULL PAGE ARTICLE RELATING TO GOLDEN JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS OF INNER WHEELCLUB OF VIJAYAWADA  WAS PUBLISHED IN  LOCAL NEWS PAPER ANDHRA JYOTHI.

Press meet was Organised on installation function & women on wheels, self defense and golden jubilee celebrations. 

There was a wide press & media coverage of:-

To promote inner wheel 100 coffee mugs printed on both sides with IIW Theme logo 2017 -18 and Golden Jubilee logo of IWC Vijayawada were presented to new members, guests, judges of the competitions conducted etc…

Brochures regarding the projects of IWC Vijayawada during golden jubilee year were  printed and distributed to the sponsors.

 

Our members gave an half an hour programme  at ‘all india radio ’ in Vijayawada…. Sang songs, explained about happy schools programme , talked on healthy and nutritive tips etc…

Almost all the programmes were covered in electronic media
