INNER WHEEL CLUB OF VIJAYAWADA

From IWC of Vijayawada blossomed yet another Chairman for the District in 2014-2015, none other than the computer wizard J. Mani Prabha. ‘Light the Path’ was the enlightening IIW Theme given by the IIW President Abha Gupta from India. The Association President was Dr. Rashmi Sharma from Bhusawal, situated on river Tapi, in Maharashtra. The District Events during Chairman Mani Prabha’s tenure are:
• ‘Megha’ Multi District Assembly on 29-06-2014 hosted by IWC of Eluru. PAP Dr. Pallavi Shah was the chief guest and 5 districts participated in the event.
• ‘Mayuri’ Multi District Rally & ISO Meet and ‘Jagruti – The Awakening’ District Seminar on Power of Women on 16-11-2014 hosted by IWC of Vijayawada Mid Town. 12 Districts participated along with members of Association EC.
• ‘Mihika’ Conference on 25-01-2015 hosted by home club IWC of Vijayawada
A single club was categorized as non-functional bringing down the total number to 24. Major Projects and Happenings:
• Inaugurated 8 Happy Schools, a national record for the year.
• Constructed three Inner Wheel guest rooms and four toilet blocks at temple premises in Vijayawada.
• As a measure to brand Inner Wheel, Inner Wheel Musical Nite was organized in which 1500 delegates participated. The projects were both inaugurated by Association President Rashmi Sharma and Rotary Governor District 3020.
• Collected Rs. 1,50,000/- towards Hudhud Cyclone relief fund and donated 50 benches and desks to Hudhud affected Government aided school in Visakhapatnam.
• Collected Rs. 30,000/- towards Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund.
• Participated in the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Inner Wheel Clubs in India at Delhi and received District Charter from IIW President Abha Gupta.
• Attended South Zone Seminar Sevarpan and IIW President Abha Gupta’s felicitations at Chennai.
• Publications included Telugu language translations of the speeches in the 13th Triennial Conference, Messages from IIW President, Association President and Telugu Edition of Why Join Inner Wheel.
