INNER WHEEL CLUB OF VIJAYAWADA

Yet another pillar of strength was presented by IWC of Vijayawada when G. Rashmi Samaram became the District Chairman in the year 1995-1996. The IIW President Ida Dubbeldam-de-klerk of Netherlands appealed to our spirit of generosity through the theme ‘Open Your Heart and Your Home’. Association President Abha Gupta is from New Delhi. District Events under the leadership of Rashmi Samaram include:
• ‘Samahita’ District Assembly on 14-05-1995 hosted by IWC of Vijayawada
• ‘Sneha’ District Rally on 03-09-1995 hosted by IWC of Anakapalle
• Inter District ISO Meet on 23-12-1995 hosted by IWC of Visakhapatnam
• ‘Sahrudaya’ District Conference on 24-12-1995 hosted by IWC of Waltair The membership of the District increased by 98 members 2 new clubs – IWC of Razole and IWC of Kasibugga Palasa were started Significant Projects, Happenings and Publications:
• Pulse Polio Immunization
• For the first time in the District 4 Zonal Meets were organized
• Construction of cottages for the aged, class rooms with grills in blind school and an auditorium for IWC activities were undertaken by the clubs
• District Seminar ‘Women and Health’ was conducted
• A guideline book about PPI was published in Telugu ‘Polio Nirmulana Mahayagnam’
• Questionnaire and pamphlets on Polio Plus • A book on health aspects of women ‘Streelu Aarogyam’ was published
• 2 District Chairman Newsletters
